<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device and a printer device which easily prepare index prints and quickly and easily retrieve images by using the prepared index prints. <P>SOLUTION: Index print preparation conditions such as "daily top", "monthly top", "daily division", and "monthly division" are previously set and displayed as a menu. A user can easily prepare an index print by selecting a condition from the displayed menu.
