<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric contact for direct detection of an electric contact reaching a wear limit set beforehand for, an electrical contact wear detection device, and its detection method. <P>SOLUTION: The electric contact wear detection device 1 is provided with the electric contact 3 for a base material 4, which is a contact consisting of aluminum, etc. The electric contact 3 is provided with an electrode 5 provided with a surface processed layer 51 consisting of conductive material, such as silver, provided with light emission in a different wave length from the base material 4. The electric contact 3 is protruded inside a box 2 surrounding it and is constituted to be able to be opened or closed by a driving device with its exterior not shown in the diagram. Furthermore, the detecting device 1 is provided with an optical sensor 7 having the light emitted by the contact 3 in the opening and closing action transmitted through a filter 6 with wave length selectivity, detecting the light of the specific wave length and converting to an electric signal, and a signal processing device 8 connected to the optical sensor 7 and recording/analyzing this electric signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
