PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make even a file that it does not take long time to be acquired, hard to be discarded from a cache memory when that file is frequently viewed regarding a digital data broadcast receiving method and digital data broadcast receiving apparatus for downloading a file which is cyclically sent from a channel for sending digital data broadcasts. SOLUTION: Information relating to a view time of a channel is stored in a channel view table 10 by a channel view investigation means 7, and an evaluation value 11 for determining the priority of files to be stored in a cache memory 3 is calculated from download times of files sent from the channel and the channel view table 10 by a file information acquisition and management means 4. Furthermore, when there is no file sent from a designated channel in the cache memory 3, the file is downloaded and when the cache memory 3 has no free space for storing the file, a file having an evaluation value 11 smaller than an evaluation file 11 of the downloaded file is deleted from the cache memory 3 and the downloaded file is stored in the cache memory 3 by a file acquisition and management means 2.
