PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control cable device for an elevator capable of giving a long lifetime to a reinforcing rope of a control cable and reducing the replacing expense for the control cable. SOLUTION: The control cable device of the elevator is equipped with the control cable 3 twined together with the reinforcing ropes, a first 9 and a second 10, a rope suspending means 12 for winding the first reinforcing rope 9 round its periphery, a rope coupling means 16 to couple together the first 9 and second reinforcing ropes 10, and a rope spacing correcting means 20 installed between the rope suspending means 12 and the body 11 of control cable for narrowing the spacing of different parts of the first reinforcing rope 9 dangling from the means 12 to the specified value, wherein the correcting surface 26 of the rope spacing correcting means 20 is provided with a groove 28 in which the first reinforcing rope 9 is accommodated.
