摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an optical coder and an optical encoder to be separately controlled without controlling temperatures or the like. <P>SOLUTION: In an optical encoder and a decoder used for an optical communication system using optical coding multiplex, FBG 101 which selects light of wavelengths corresponding to the prescribed codes out of inputted light and reflects the light with a delay time that varies with each wavelength, and FBG 103 where light reflected from the FBG 101 is inputted and which reflects light of the selected wavelengths with a delay time opposite to the above delay time are provided. The total sums of delay times superposed on light of all wavelengths that reflects from the FBG 101 and reaches to the FBG 103 and delay times superposed on light of all wavelengths that reflects from the FBG 103 and is outputted are all set equal to each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
