<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intermediate transfer printing method which makes it possible to form a transfer exclusion portion in a secondary image to be thermally transferred onto a recording medium, without forming a masking part to a primary image formed on an intermediate transfer sheet. <P>SOLUTION: In an image receiving layer 2 formed in a prescribed length on the intermediate transfer sheet 1, a non-transfer region 2a wherein the surface of the sheet 1 is exposed is formed by the transfer exclusion of a part of the layer, and the primary image 4 is formed on the image receiving layer 2 including the non-transfer region 2a by intermediately transferring ink different from the ink on the image receiving layer 2. The primary image 4 is re-transferred thereafter to form the secondary image, and thereby the portion of this image opposite to the non-transfer region 2a is excluded so that the surface of the recording medium 5 is partially exposed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
