PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat shrinkable polyester film having a light-shielding property even without printing or processing, having a high degree of whiteness, and further having an excellent solvent adhesion. SOLUTION: This heat shrinkable polyester film is provided by having≤10 % total light transmittance of the film,≥60 % degree of whiteness and≥50 % hot water shrinkage in major shrinking direction at 95°C treating temperature for 10 sec treating time and≤10 % in direction crossing at right angle with the major shrinking direction.
