PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a liquid ejecting head of a liquid ejecting apparatus from sucking air by preventing ink of the liquid ejecting head from flowing back into an ink cartridge when the ink cartridge is mounted to the liquid ejecting apparatus for the first time. SOLUTION: A bulkhead 970 having a through-hole 910 communicating a liquid storing chamber with a supplying part 160, and a membrane valve 900 to open and close the through-hole 910 of the bulkhead 970 are provided. Liquid in a flow passage from the valve 900 up to the supplying part 160 is filled under higher pressure than that in the liquid storing chamber. The valve 900 is elastically deformed thereby.
