PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic disk device for obtaining a magnetic head suspension integral with a transmission line excellent in a high-frequency transmission characteristic and a high data rate by reducing an eddy current loss and a skin effect loss peculiar to a differential transmission line used in a magnetic head to improve the transmission characteristic in high frequencies, and using this improved transmission line. SOLUTION: In the magnetic recording and reproducing device provided with a magnetic recording medium, a magnetic head with a magnetic recording head and a reproducing head, a read/write IC, and a transmission line for connecting the magnetic recording head and the reproducing head to the read/write IC, the transmission line is characterized by having a groove formed along the direction of a current, or the transmission line is characterized by having a slit formed along the direction of the a current, or the transmission line is characterized by having a pit not penetrating the conductor, or the transmission line is characterized by having a hole penetrating the conductor.
