PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide toner realizing less toner consumption per one sheet of an image and a long life with a small quantity of the toner and having excellent developing property in any environment. SOLUTION: The toner comprising toner particles having at least a binder resin and a colorant, and inorganic fine particles is characterized in that: toner particles having a circle-equivalent diameter of≥3μm and <400μm of the toner particles measured by a flow type particle image analyzer have an average circularity of≥0.935 and <0.970; the toner particles have an average surface roughness of≥5.0 nm and <35.0 nm measured by a scanning probe microscope; and a chromatogram obtained by gel permeation chromatography of the tetrahydrofuran-soluble content of the toner shows a main peak in the region of≥3.0×10<SP>3</SP>and <3.0×10<SP>4</SP>molecular weight and at least one sub-peak or shoulder in the region of≥5.0×10<SP>4</SP>and≤1.0×10<SP>8</SP>molecular weight.
