PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a problem such as leakage of oil, by enabling oil temperature compensation while exerting a predetermined damping function. SOLUTION: A rotary damper exerts damping action when working oil is reciprocated by oscillation of a vane 2 between oil chambers R1, R2. The oil chambers R1, R2 of both sides are defined by the vane 2 in a housing 1 that is connected with a bracket B holding an upper end part of a front fork installed on a front wheel side of a two-wheeled vehicle. In the rotary damper, a shaft 3 is connected with a base end part 2c of the vane 2 to project from the housing 1 and is provided with an oil temperature compensation mechanism therein.
