<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide exhaust gas treatment equipment which is capable of eliminating sulfur oxide in exhaust gas by using activated carbon fiber and does not cause the clogging of the activated carbon fiber even when seawater is used. <P>SOLUTION: Exhaust gas is humidified with seawater and the sulfur oxide, water and oxygen in the humidified exhaust gas are reacted by using the activated carbon fiber to produce dilute sulfuric acid. The dilute sulfuric acid discharged from the activated carbon fiber is reacted with calcium in the seawater to prepare calcium sulfate, the prepared calcium sulfate is eliminated from the seawater and the activated carbon fiber is washed by the seawater from which the calcium sulfate is eliminated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
