摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for extracting the organic matter in a sample at low cost without using carbon tetrachloride to quantitatively analyze the same by infrared absorption analysis. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for the quantitative analysis of the organic matter, the organic matter in the sample is extracted into an extraction organic solvent layer using an extraction organic solvent and the extraction organic solvent is volatilized from the extraction organic solvent layer to obtain residue while a deuteration solvent is added to the residue to obtain a deuteration solvent solution which is, in turn, quantitatively analyzed by infrared absorption analysis. Further, the quantitative analysis is preferably performed by the difference spectrum between the deuteration solvent solution and the deuteration solvent at least one infrared absorption peak within the range of a wave number of 3,170-3,100 cm<SP>-1</SP>, a wave number of 2,970-2,910 cm<SP>-1</SP>and a wave number of 2,870-2,840 cm<SP>-1</SP>. Furthermore, the cell light path length of an absorption cell used at the time of quantitative analysis due to infrared absorption analysis is preferable 5 mm or below. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p>
