<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent piling of dust onto a light emitting face as well as to suppress invasion of the dust into an exposure device. <P>SOLUTION: With an aim of preventing the invasion of dust into the exposure device 20 which irradiates and exposes light to the peripheral face of a photoreceptor drum 132 set in an equipment body 11 of an image forming apparatus 10, and adhesion of the dust to the light emitting face of an LED head 21 of the exposure device 20, there are set a transparent cylindrical dust protecting cover 40 capped parallel to the photoreceptor drum 132 and concentrically with the exposure device 20, a driving mechanism 50 for rotating the cylindrical dust protecting cover 40 around the cylinder center, and a cleaning means 60 for cleaning the peripheral face of the cylindrical dust protecting cover 40 on the basis of its rotation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
