PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an electromagnetic wave shielding effect at a low cost in a joining portion between an optical filter fixing means and a back cover, in a plasma display apparatus which surrounds a PDP provided with a conductive optical filter disposed on the front surface of the PDP, the conductive back cover for covering the PDP from the back side, the optical filter fixing means for holding the optical filter and electrically connected to the optical filter and the back cover, and is provided with a shielding casing for shielding unwanted radiation of an electromagnetic wave from the PDP. SOLUTION: The optical filter fixing means is provided with a comb-like plate spring being a metal elastic body which is formed by cutting the spring with predetermined spacings in a long side direction so as to be finely divided into strip is provided on a joining portion with the back cover substantially positioned on the side surface of the PDP. With this configuration, the comb-like plate spring may be pressed on and abut against the joining portion between the back cover and the optical filter fixing means. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
