<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a development unit which is easy to attach, saves space, and increases the flexibility of design, and to provide an image forming apparatus having the development unit. <P>SOLUTION: A first contact member 115 electrically connected to the rotary shaft 75 of a development roller, a second contact member 116 electrically connected to the rotary shaft 76 of a supply roller, and a third contact member 117 electrically connected to the support plate 103 of a blade are fixed to a cover member 80 which is attached to the side of the development unit.
