SIGNAL PROCESSING APPARATUS AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal processing apparatus and method capable of demodulating a signal including a control signal subjected to spread spectrum processing and transmission data modulated by a prescribed modulation system.

SOLUTION: The signal processing apparatus includes: an orthogonal demodulator 106 for converting an input signal into an I-Q baseband signal; a multipath detection circuit having a first correlation unit for using a spread code to apply inverse spread processing to the baseband signal and a peak detection circuit for detecting a peak of an output of the first correlation unit; a second correlation unit for carrying out inverse spread processing with the spread code by using a maximum peak position of the correlation output detected by the peak detection circuit for a demodulation timing; a phase discrimination circuit for detecting an output phase of the second correlation unit at the maximum peak position of a symbol period obtained by the multipath detection circuit 110; a spread code demodulator for demodulating the baseband signal on the basis of an output of the phase discrimination circuit; a first equalizer for applying waveform equalization to the control signal; and a second equalizer 140 for receiving an output of the first equalizer 120 to apply waveform equalization to the transmission data.
