PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data transfer system in which an identification card indicating the identification of a user is scanned to transfer scan image data to a terminal device where identification information of the user is registered. SOLUTION: The identification card indicating the identification of the user is scanned by a scanner printer 100, the identification information is read and when it is searched in a personal computer 16 as a server device that the identification information is registered in advance, scan image data from the scanner printer 100 are transferred to a personal computer 18, for example, as a terminal device where the identification information is registered in advance. Thus, a time and labor for inputting the identification information indicating the identification of the user is eliminated and furthermore, the time and labor of operation relating to writing the scan image data on a magnetic disk or the like is eliminated, thereby improving convenience for the user.
