PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network adapter which reduces the burden of a household electrical appliance side and can easily correspond even to a network with different communication medium when the household electrical appliance is made to correspond to a network and to provide a household electrical appliance connectable to the network adapter. SOLUTION: This network adapter 6 is provided with an interface part 8 for being connected to the household electrical appliance 2, a household electrical appliance communication control part 10 for exchanging a signal with the household electrical appliance 2 in a first communication format, a data converting part 12 for converting the signal in the first communication format into a signal in a second communication format different from the first communication format, a network communication control part 14 for exchanging a signal with an external network corresponding to the second communication format, and an inputting-outputting part 16 for being connected to the external network.
