PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a weight to promptly respond to the level variation of a reception signal due to fading while reducing burden of weight update processing. SOLUTION: In an antenna ((a) of Fig.4, not shown) using an AA array antenna 1, a weight control unit 4 updates a weight for controlling directivity for each user's mobile station device (not shown). The weight update is performed using array output A from this antenna and a reference signal. The array output A for each mobile station device is detected by a synchronization detector 5, and then supplied to a reception SIR measuring section 9. In the section 9, the SIR is measured at a predetermined interval, and the measured SIR is ranked by a weight update order reference table 10. Then, the N number of mobile station devices are designated from the least significant order of this rank, and the weight control unit 4 is instructed to update the weight only for the N number of mobile station devices.
