PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive variable resistor having position precision concerning the variable resistor used for temperature control or the like of a car air conditioner. SOLUTION: An operation position in an operation range corresponding to linearity deviation of resistance change characteristics can be specified on the basis of a switch signal by arranging in C-shape a signal pattern 19 and a common pattern 20 as a switch means for switching a state of at least one or more times output signal, in the operation range corresponding to the linearity deviation of the resistance change characteristics of a resistance element 18 in a parallel state on the outer periphery by making the resistance element 18 to be concentric to a resistance substrate 12 providing the resistance element 18 and a conductor 17.
