Fabrication method for fan-out of an optical cable

The manufacturing method has the outer mantle (4) and the inner armouring elements of the optical cable removed for a given length from the end of the optical cable, before revealing the optical conductors (2) by removing the conductor sheathing over a given distance from the end of each optical conductor bundle. Several empty pipes with an inner plastics sleeve (6), an armouring element layer (7) and an outer plastics mantle (8) are prepared and the fitted to the optical fibres so that these project from the ends of the empty pipes, before fixing the armouring elements of the latter with the armouring elements of the optical cable, e.g. via a crimp connector (9).
