Multi-layer food (especially sausage) casings or films for food packaging such as shrink bags have 6 or 7 layers made up of polyamide, EVOH, adhesion aids, polyolefins such as polyethylene, PET and EVA. Multi-layer food (especially sausage) casings or films for food packaging such as shrink bags have 6 or 7 layers. The three claimed embodiments for the casings comprise from the outside: (A) (i) polyamide; (ii) EVOH; (iii) adhesion aid; (iv) polyolefin such as polyethylene; (v) adhesion aid; and (vi) polyamide; (B) (i) polyamide; (ii) EVOH; (iii) polyamide; (iv) adhesion aid; (v) polyolefin such as polyethylene; (vi) adhesion aid; and (vii) polyamide; and (C) (i) polyamide; (ii) adhesion aid; (iii) polyamide; (iv) EVOH; (v) polyamide; (vi) adhesion aid; and (vii) polyamide. The three claimed embodiments for the (e.g. shrink) packaging comprise from the outside: (A) (i) polyolefin such as polyethylene; (ii) adhesion aid; (iii) polyamide; (iv) EVOH; (v) polyamide; (vi) adhesion aid; and (vii) polyolefin such as polyethylene; (B) (i) PET; (ii) adhesion aid; (iii) polyamide; (iv) EVOH; (v) polyamide; (vi) adhesion aid; and (vii) polyolefin such as polyethylene; and (C) (i) polyolefin such as polyethylene; (ii) EVA; (iii) adhesion aid; (iv) EVOH; (v) adhesion aid; (vi) EVA; and (vii) polyolefin such as polyethylene.
