The ultrasonic wave generator (20) is mounted on a swivel joint (22) on a jointed arm (24) with a fastening (26) on the ceiling. The lithotripter head is brought into contact with the body of the patient (P) and the sound waves are focused on a given point (F). The X-ray system (2) for observing progress of the treatment has an X-ray generator (8) and receiver (10) on a C-frame (6) on a movable trolley (4). The C-frame may include guide rails (34) and a light source (32) producing two converging light beams (LS1,2). The working point (A) of the X-ray machine is coincident with the focus of the lithotripter.
