A refrigerator with a UV transmission shelf is provided to improve the UV sterilization effect by mounting the UV transmission shelf in a cavity of the refrigerator for evenly distribute UV light generated by a UV generating unit. A refrigerator with a UV transmission shelf includes an UV generating unit mounted in a cavity of the refrigerator and the UV transmission shelf(10) mounted at least partially in the cavity for transmitting UV emitted from the UV generating unit. The UV transmission shelf includes a UV transmission glass part(12) for transmitting the UV emitted from the UV generating unit and a frame(14) for surrounding the UV transmission glass part. The UV transmission glass part is formed of synthetic quartz glass, which is reinforced for supporting a plurality of food containers.
