[Also in Division G3] In a numerically controlled system for a boring machine the commanded radial position ing of a boring tool is modified by a compensation signal determined from measurement of a bored hole. The determined decimal compensation is set up on a decimal switch, Fig. 3, (not shown), incorporating a plurality of AND-gates whereby a binary coded compensation signal is fed to a 'boring -axis 'register 15, whence it is combined with a command signal. The output of the register 15 is applied to a control 19 for a drive 28<SP>1</SP> radially pesitioning a cutter 25, 26 by a bell-crank arrangement 27. The radial position of the cutter is determined by a transducer 30 the output of which counts down the register 15, the drive 28<SP>1</SP> being stopped when the cutter is at the actual commanded diameter |
