A seat module 80 for a passenger vehicle, e.g. an aircraft, comprises a seat portion 71,72; a foot rest portion 67; a unitary supporting structure 42 for supporting the seat and foot rest portions off the floor of the vehicle; and a three-point attaching means for attaching the supporting structure to a pair of tracks 32 in the floor of the vehicle. The attaching means comprises two spaced fixings 38 for attaching the supporting structure to one of the tracks at two spaced points, and a third fixing 39 for fixing the supporting structure to the other track. A plurality of seat modules 80 may be attached to the tracks, one adjacent to the other to form a plurality of seat units, wherein each seat unit comprises the seat portion of one module and the footrest of an adjacent module. The three-point fixing allows a greater degree of flexibility between the tracks thus allowing the tracks to flex in the event of an emergency landing or crash with a reduced risk of the seat modules becoming detached from the tracks. |
