ANNOTATION MANAGEMENT IN A PEN-BASED COMPUTING SYSTEM

A system and a method for managing handwriting annotation on a pen-based computing system are provided to offer a new tool for efficiently managing information, as a pen enables a user to input the handwriting notations to an electronic document. A notation monitoring module monitors the electronic document for inputting the notations. An extracting module(220) collects context data appeared close to the notation inputted to the electronic document and extracts more than one keyword from the context data. An information processing module finds out related contents by using the keywords and the notations. A history module includes more than one history keyword previously used in the system. Whether the keywords are included in the history module, the extraction module weights the keywords.
