Boot with lacing fastenings

A lacing system for an ankle boot, e.g. for snow boarding, has the laces strung between side flaps (5, 6) attached to the back support (4) and with an upwards facing hook (13) fitted to the upper part of the tongue. To stiffen the boot support the wearer merely loops the upper part of the lace onto the hook. This presses the tongue downwards and reduces flexibility, e.g. when leaning forwards. The hook is plastic molded and is provided with a friction grip surface on the inside of the hook profile. The flexibility setting is reversible.
