<p>The vehicle wheel contains an annular emergency support (3) with side supports (2a, 2b) connecting it to the wheel rim (10). The support has elliptical apertures in its surface to assist re-inflation of the tire (8). Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) an emergency support; and (b) a method for making it which comprises stamping elliptical holes in a sheet of material, bending it to form a ring , fastening the ends together and pressing it to give a corrugated cross-section.</p> |
