The assembly, designed to be fitted to the fork of a clutch release mechanism, has a shoe (20) forming a sliding surface for the tip of a ball joint axle, and a support (12) with a cavity (17) to receive the tip. The support has retaining elements that enable the shoe to be fixed to it while leaving a clearance that allows for a relative movement between the two components.
