A system for inductively heating a fluid conduit (16) using an electrical cable (18) located proximate the fluid conduit (16). Electricity is conducted to the cable (18) in either a powering mode, in which a powered system (28) is electrically coupled to the cable (18) and substantially no inductive heating of the fluid conduit (16) is provided, or a heating mode, in which the powered system (28)is electrically decoupled from the cable (18) and inductive heating of the fluid conduit (16) is provided.
