Sealing arrangement for elevator with an electromagneticallly retractable door wing seal

The seal assembly is for a gap between a door (31) and the adjacent surface (24). The seal (23, 25) is held moveably near the lift door. The electromagnetic actuator is fastened near the door and is implemented such that on operation it acts upon the seal (23, 25), moving it from one position to another. Operation is started before or during opening of the door section (31). The electromagnetic actuator, employing permanent magnets, has a control system interlocked with lift functions.
