A microwave oven includes a magnetron apparatus (14), a heat chamber (13), a chassis (11) and a cabinet (12). The magnetron apparatus (14) contains a magnetron tube (15) which generates an electromagnetic wave, and a metal member (16). The metal member (16) is electrically connected to the anode (15a) and encloses the magnetron tube (15). The heat chamber (13) is supplied with the electromagnetic wave. The heat chamber (13) is mounted on the chassis (11). The cabinet (12) constitutes a body (10) that covers the magnetron apparatus (14) and the heat chamber (13) in combination with the chassis (11). In the microwave oven, the metal member (16) and the cabinet (12) are electrically connected through an electrically conductive sponge (17).
