A method for processing spam messages in a mobile terminal is provided to make most spam messages automatically and silently stored in a spam message storage folder only by basic setting so that anybody can be easily protected against spam messages. If a message is received, a control part in a mobile terminal having a spam message storage folder confirms whether the received message is from a number registered in the phonebook. In case that the received message is from a number not registered in the phonebook, the control part stores it in the spam message storage folder. At the same time, the control part controls the mobile terminal so as not to respond to the received message at all. |
