METHOD OF MANUFACTURING MOLDING FOR VEHICLE AND EXTRUSION MOLDING MACHINE USED IN PERFORMING SUCH METHOD

A method of manufacturing a molding having a molding body (12), a projection (15) and an outer lip (16) utilizes a fixed die having a main extrusion opening (24) corresponding to the cross-sectional configurati on of the molding body (12) and the projection (15) and having a supplemental extrusion opening (25) corresponding to the cross-sectional configuration of the outer lip (16), and a movable die (31) having a shaping surface (33) to shape the outer surface of the projection (15) and adapted to move along a traveling path. The supplemental extrusion opening (25) is isolated from the traveling path of the movable di e (31). The method includes the steps of forming the molding body (12) and the projection (15) by extrusion molding from the main extrusi on opening (24), forming the outer lip (16) by extrusion molding from the supplemental extrusion opening (25), and moving the movable die (31) to change the cross-sectional configuration of the projection (15) by the shaping surface thereof.
