A vehicle providing a variable interior volume comprises a primary outer structure and an expansion module (17) pivotably connected to the primary structure. A hinged coupling (26) facilitates pivoting movement of the expansion module between a retracted configuration, in which the expansion module is predominantly contained within the primary structure, and a deployed configuration, in which the expansion module is predominantly outside the primary structure. The total interior volume is thus increased as the module is deployed.
