A door control apparatus for protecting children is provided to improve children safety by using a sensor for locking a rear door automatically. A mechanical locking unit(43) locks a rear door of a vehicle. An ECU(Electronic Control Unit)(20) controls the mechanical locking unit(43). A detecting sensor(30) is installed on a predetermined position of a rear seat(41) of the vehicle and detects an object in predetermined height zone which is set higher than a height of a sitting child. When the object is not detected, the detecting sensor(30) locks the rear door through the ECU(20) and the locking unit(43). An on/off switch(31) is installed on a predetermined position of a driver's seat(40) and has a locking-on position, a locking-off position, and a neutral position and operates the locking unit(43) through the ECU(20). |
