SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR AUTOMATIC CONVERSION FROM WAP CLIENT PROVISIONING XML REPRESENTED OBJECTS TO OMA DM TREE STRUCTURE REPRESENTED OBJECTS

A method and a system for automatically converting an object like a vender-specified parameter of a WAP(Wireless Application Protocol) CP(Client Provisioning) XML(eXtensible Markup Language) expression into the object of an OMA(Open Mobile Appliance) DM(Device Management) tree structure expression are provided to make an OMA DA server/client easily manage the vender-specified parameter, as the vender-specified parameter is automatically converted into the OMA DM from the WAP CP. A server(310) is equipped with a data storage(316) for storing the parameter related to a network communication device, and mobile devices(320,330) connected to the WAN(Wide Area Network)/LAN(Local Area Network)(340) or the cellular/pager network(350). In case that an element of the WAP CP XML is matched with an attribute element in the WAP CP XML, a device management application(312) converts the element into an internal node in an OMA DM tree structure. In the case that the element is matched with a parameter element, the device management application converts the element into a leaf node in the OMA DM tree.
