<p>Lightweight concrete based on Portland cement wherein the aggregate is solely or partially comprised of crushed expanded glass (foam-glass), said concrete exhibiting a weight increase of maximum 5% in 2 years tested according to Canadian Standard CSA A 23.2-14A. The lightweight concrete includes crushed foam-glass in an amount of at least 20% by weight of the fresh lightweight concrete and a pozzuolanic material that is included in an amount of at least 8% by weight of the cement in the lightweight concrete. The cement component(s) of the light weight concrete are chosen among CEM I low alkaline cement (max. 0.6% by weight Na2O), CEM II fly ash cement with an alkaline (Na2O) content less than 8% by weight of the fly ash content, as well as mixtures of such cements.</p> |
