UPGRADE APPARATUS AND ITS METHOD FOR HOME NETWORK SYSTEM

A device and a method for automatically upgrading a home network system and home appliances are provided to automatically perform upgrade by receiving an upgrade file for each home appliance, which is a sub device of the home network system, from an external server. A connecting means(31) communicates with the external server or a refrigerator(12). The first storing part(32) is equipped with the protected program and the first storing part protecting program. The second storing part(33) stores upgrade information and the upgrade file. An upgrade means(34) upgrades the protected program of the first storing part with the upgrade file stored in the second storing part. A controller(35) transfers the upgrade information stored in the second storing part to the external server or the refrigerator, receives upgrade data including the new upgrade information/upgrade file from the external server, and stores it to the second storing part.
