An installation method for a footway on a bridge for vehicles is provided to walk over a bridge by installing to secure the maximum safety simply and easily using a pier of the pre-installed bridge, to reinforce and repair by improving the bearing strength and durability of a pier while installing a footway on a bridge and to extend the life on usage by preventing the deterioration of a bridge. The footway(10) installed using a pier(2) of a bridge(1) for vehicles contains: a fixture(11) fixed to cover up a portion of the upper end of a pier(2); a connector(12) coupled to be inclined upward from both sides of the fixture(11); inner and outer frames coupled to support both sides of the connector(12); a backing fixed to go across the inner and outer frames; and a footway fixture coupled with a fixed bracket and a rib piece. The installation method for a footway(10) of a bridge(1) for vehicles comprises the steps of: fixing a fixture(11) on the upper part of a pier(2) of the pre-installed bridge(1); fixing connectors(12) on both ends of the fixture(11) installed on the pier(2); installing inner and outer frames composed of structural Tee on inner and outer ends of the fixture(11); installing many backings across the inner and outer frames at regular intervals; placing and fixing a footway fixture on the backing; and installing a footway member on the footway fixture.
