To provide a new wet oxidation process using a low pressure method which reduces operating cost, obtains high reduction effects of conversion ratio and chemical oxygen demand and is stably adopting multi-stage co-current reactors. A wet oxidation process for oxidizing sulfur compounds in a waste sodium hydroxide solution produced in a washing process for removing acidic gas generated from a naphtha cracking process comprises: a first step of storing a waste sodium hydroxide solution in a storage tank(10); a second step of removing residual oil contained in the waste sodium hydroxide solution by a filter(20) and a coalescer(30); a third step of mixing the waste sodium hydroxide solution with steam and air in mixers(50,51); a fourth step of oxidation reacting a mixture of the third step in multi-stage co-current reactors(60,61); and a fifth step of performing a gas-liquid separation on a reaction product of the fourth step by a gas-liquid separator(70), wherein the wet oxidation process further comprises a sixth step of heating the waste sodium hydroxide solution by a heat exchanger(40) between the second step and the third step, and wherein the wet oxidation process further comprises a seventh step of removing oil polymer in an oil polymer remover(90) between the fifth step and the sixth step. |
