PURPOSE: A shell for winding cord fabrics is provided to secure economical usefulness and to achieve weight reduction while maintaining durability. CONSTITUTION: A shell for winding cord fabrics has a core body(1) and an outer shell body(4) of a thin metal cylinder shape. In the core body, edge-reinforcing parts(1a) are formed by pressing both edges of a square pipe made of metal and metal flanges(2,2a), the periphery of which is formed in a circular shape, are welded to both ends of the square pipe. Square holes are bored in the flanges. Reinforcing blades(1b) are attached between edge-reinforcing bodies and are joined to the flanges. Plural reinforcing disks(3) are arranged and fixed to the outside of the square pipe at regular intervals. The reinforcing disk has a square combining hole(30) formed in the center; a bent contact part(31) formed to the outer periphery; reinforcing frames(32) radially formed between the square combining hole and the belt contact part; and a reinforcing body(33) formed in a circular wheel shape. The outer shell body is fitted to the outside of the core body, and the flange of the core body and the outer shell body are welded. The reinforcing disks come in contact with the inside of the outer shell body. A paper layer(5) less than 0.5¯12.5 mm is formed to the surface of the outer shell body.
