NOVEL CANDIDA TROPICALIS CJ-FID(KCTC 10457BP) AND MANUFACTURING METHOD OF XYLITOL THEREBY

A microorganism Candida tropicalis CJ-FID(KCTC 10457BP) and a manufacturing method of xylitol using the same microorganism are provided, thereby improving yield and purity of xylitol, so that the method can be applied to a large-scaled xylitol production. The microorganism Candida tropicalis CJ-FID(KCTC 10457BP) is provided, wherein Candida tropicalis CJ-FID(KCTC 10457BP) is isolated from the natural honey; and Candida tropicalis CJ-FID(KCTC 10457BP) produces xylitol. The alginate beads immobilizing Candida tropicalis CJ-FID(KCTC 10457BP) are prepared by mixing Candida tropicalis CJ-FID(KCTC 10457BP) with an alginate solution, and adding dropwise of the mixed solution into the calcium salt solution. The method for manufacturing xylitol comprises the steps of: preparing a fermentation medium containing xylose and sucrose; inoculating the alginate beads immobilizing Candida tropicalis CJ-FID(KCTC 10457BP) into the fermentation medium; and fermenting the inoculated fermentation medium in a fermenter.
