The device has a ring (3) that is arranged between a closure (2) and a vial (1) and confined in a tamper resistance device carried by the vial. The ring exhales odor of a product contained in the vial, and is formed of a polymer e.g. polyvinyl chloride (PVC), impregnated with odorous ingredients reproducing the odor of a product e.g. pine or lemon perfumed Javel pastille, in the vial. An independent claim is also included for a package carrying a product identification device.
