A magneto-optical recording medium of domain wall motion detection type in the form of groove recording for recording a signal in a signal recording area within a groove formed along a recording track. The radius of curvature R1 of the shoulder portion, adjacent to a groove, of the land between grooves in the cross section taken perpendicularly to the recording track is 30 nm or less, and the radius of curvature R2 of the inner edge portion, adjacent to the land, of the groove where a signal is recorded in the cross section taken perpendicularly to the recording track is 20 nm or more. The recording power margin is increased, the jitter is improved, and the error rate is also improved.
