MECHANICAL OPTICAL SWITCH COMBINING ACTUATOR, OPTICAL INPUT/OUTPUT PORT, AND MIRROR INTO ONE BODY

PURPOSE: An optical switch is provided to improve driving force and to prevent coil disconnection. CONSTITUTION: A mechanical optical switch includes an actuator, an optical input/output port, a mirror, and a body. The actuator includes a coil portion(100), a magnet(200), a torsion bar(300), a metal bar(400), and plural springs(510-540). The coil portion is fixed on the body. The magnet is implemented on the coil portion. The torsion bar is formed on the body on the magnet. The torsion bar is apart from the magnet in a predetermined distance. The metal bar is formed on the torsion bar such that the metal bar is orthogonal to the torsion bar and is aligned along with the magnet. The mirror is implemented on the metal bar. The multiple springs are formed one by one in an inner portion of a region formed by the magnet and the torsion bar. The springs are formed on the body or the torsion bar to support the metal bar. The sum of elastic forces of springs on each side from the torsion bar is larger than the magnetic force of the magnet and is smaller than the driving force of the magnet and the coil.
