摘要 PURPOSE: A plasma display panel is provided to achieve improved luminance and optical efficiency by enhancing the structure of a sustain electrode even without increasing an address voltage. CONSTITUTION: A plasma display panel(100) comprises an upper plate(110) and a lower plate. The upper plate includes a front substrate(12); sustain electrodes formed on the lower surface of the front substrate; and an upper dielectric layer(16) for covering the sustain electrodes. The lower plate includes a rear substrate(22); address electrodes(23) formed on the rear substrate such that the address electrodes intersect the sustain electrodes; a lower dielectric layer(26) for covering the address electrodes; barrier ribs(300) formed on the lower dielectric layer; and phosphors deposited on the discharge cells defined by the barrier ribs. Each of the sustain electrodes includes a bus electrode(15) having a narrow width, and transparent electrodes(130,140) extended from the bus electrode toward the inside of the discharge cell. The transparent electrode has a wide width, and inlet portions(135,145) corresponding to the barrier ribs. Each of the inlet portions has a width 0.5 to 1.5 times of the thickness of the corresponding barrier rib.
