PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize sure uninstallation of an unnecessary shared file when shared files used in a plurality of application programs are present. SOLUTION: This shared file control method for application comprises retaining a table for managing the shared files; recording information for showing the presence of shared files and information showing the presence of applications using the shared files in the management table; registering presence information of shared file and application presence information at the time of application installation; and deleting the application presence information at the time of application uninstallation, while retaining the presence information of shared file when the application presence information corresponding to the shared file concerned is present, and deleting the presence information when the application presence information corresponding to the shared file concerned is absent.
